Spider veins and small varicose veins are common concerns that affect both the appearance and comfort of your legs. These visible veins can develop due to genetics, hormonal changes, aging, pregnancy, prolonged standing, or lifestyle factors. If you’re looking for a safe, effective way to reduce the appearance of unwanted veins, sclerotherapy at Rinnova Skin & Body offers a proven, minimally invasive solution.
What is Sclerotherapy?
At Rinnova Skin & Body, we use Asclera® (polidocanol), an FDA-approved injectable treatment for spider veins and small varicose veins. During your appointment, Dr. Becker carefully injects the affected veins with the solution, causing the vein walls to collapse and seal shut. Over the following weeks, your body naturally absorbs the treated vein, leaving your skin looking clearer and more even.
Sclerotherapy is a quick, in-office procedure with little to no downtime, making it one of the most effective treatments for improving the appearance of spider veins and small varicose veins.
What to expect after Sclerotherapy?
Following your sclerotherapy treatment, you’ll need to wear 20–30 mmHg medical-grade compression stockings continuously for seven days, including while sleeping. Compression stockings are available for purchase at our office, or you may bring your own to your appointment.
For the first week after treatment, Dr. Becker recommends avoiding activities that place excessive pressure on the treated areas, such as heavy weightlifting. Light to moderate activities—including walking, jogging, yoga, and skiing—are generally encouraged as long as you continue wearing your compression stockings as directed.
Results develop gradually over several weeks as your body naturally absorbs the treated veins. A follow-up appointment will allow Dr. Becker to evaluate your progress and determine whether additional treatment is recommended to achieve your desired results.
