Who can benefit from a Profractional laser treatment?
Patients looking to address fine lines and wrinkles, acne scarring, and dullness are ideal candidates to receive this treatment. This is an excellent option to treat signs of aging on the face, neck, and chest, and it is a slightly more intense treatment than our Halo resurfacing laser.
What to expect during and after your Profractional laser?
Total treatment time lasts about 45 to 60 minutes depending on which areas you will be getting treated. You will receive topical numbing cream so the treatment itself only feels like a mild warmth or tingling. You will leave the office feeling warmth like a sunburn for a few hours. Mild swelling and redness are considered part of the healing process but should resolve in about one week.
Improvements can be seen shortly after your treatment but full collagen remodeling continues for up to six months. Some patients are satisfied with their changes after one treatment, but a series often achieves best results especially if deep scarring is an issue. Profractional laser can be combined with several of our modalities including a Micro Laser Peel or BBL to achieve optimal results.
